What are the Mass Air Flow sensor problems? : Jaguar XF 5.0 L 550 hp Gas

Find a description of all problem that might be found on the Mass Air flow sensor.

Function

The mass airflow (MAF) sensor measures the mass (or weight) of the air as it passes through the throttle body to the intake manifold. It transmits this information to the engine control computer, which helps control the fuel-to-air ratio.

Mass air flow sensor problems

Problems mass air flow sensors are very common. The MAF sensor could get contaminated or damaged. Often this happens when an old or improperly installed air filter allows some unfiltered air into the engine or when oil from an oil-soaked air filter contaminates the air flow sensor.

A bad or contaminated mass air flow sensor cannot measure the amount of air flow correctly. This can cause various driveability problems; most often a it is lack of power, stalling (especially when the engine is started cold) and poor acceleration. In other cases, a car may have poor gas mileage and black smoke from exhaust. In addition, a problem with the mass air flow sensor will causes the Check engine or Service engine soon light to come on. In many cars the air flow sensor signal is used to determine automatic transmission shifting points. A problem with the airflow sensor could alter the shifting pattern of the automatic transmission.

Do you have a problem with your MAF sensor?

Try CARBON CLEANING !

Before going to the mechanic, clean your engine !

Preventive engine cleaning enables you to restore engine parts rather than replacing them, thereby saving vehicle owners on costly parts, such as a new turbocharger (1.350€ - 3.100€), catalytic converter (600€ - 2.000€), DPF (600€ - 2.000€) or EGR valve (370€ - 500€).

These problems result mainly from poor combustion, which stifles the engine.

So before replacing your engine parts, try Carbon Cleaning. A dirty engine as the result of carbon deposits is the new threat to vehicle performance.
